Blood pressure is to be taken on all patients, as well as anyone that is having SRP done or an extraction. Doctors should always be consulted when there is any question about a patient’s condition. General guidelines are as follows:

Our basic range for treatment is as follows:

If your patient has a BP of 180/100 or greater. Do the following steps.

• Make sure you took the reading with the arm cuff

• Offer Nitrous to the patient, after 5 min of administering retake the BP with arm cuff

• If the BP is still over 180/100 then consult a doctor

  • The doctor will take into account the treatment for the day, patient’s condition and other factors in determining the best course of treatment moving forward.
