If your patient has a BP of 180/100 or greater. Do the following steps.
Make sure you took the reading with the arm cuff
Offer Nitrous to the patient, after 5 min of administering retake the BP with arm cuff
If the BP is still over 180/100 then consult a doctor
The doctor will take into account the treatment for the day, patient’s condition and other factors in determining the best course of treatment moving forward.
